Below you will find a schedule for this year’s Advent season.  We hope you can join us!

Order now!Poinsettias

Orders for poinsettia are being taken. We hope you will consider placing a poinsettia in memory or honor of someone special this year. Each plant is $20. Poinsettias will be used in worship on Sunday, December 17 through December 31. The deadline to order is December 10. Click here to order.

December 3Advent Adventure

Themed games and crafts for children of all ages from 4:00-6:00 PM at North Blvd. Town Square in downtown Baton Rouge. The America Street Band will have a concert at Advent Adventure. 

December 10Music Sunday

Sanctuary Service: The Chancel Choir and Festival Orchestra will offer music at the 8:30 & 11:00 AM services.

America Street Service: Our band and special guests will offer seasonal selections at the 9:45 AM service.

December 10Downtown Pilgrimage

This annual event begins at 5:30 PM at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church. Join us at 4:30 PM in the Conference Center for delicious gumbo before embarking upon this event.

December 16Christmas Food Boxes

Pack and deliver a Christmas meal to families for the Holidays. Meet at 9:00 AM at FUMC.

December 19The Longest Night Service

This service begins at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary. Join us for a service of healing, hope, and encouragement at this time as a reminder that even on the darkest day, Christ comes to offer light into our world.

December 24Christmas Eve Worship

8:30 AM — Sanctuary Service (Includes special worship moments for children in place of the sermon)

9:45 AM — America Street Service (Includes special worship moments for children in place of the sermon)

11:00 AM — Sanctuary Service (Includes special worship moments for children in place of the sermon)

4:00 PM — Sanctuary Service (Communion and Candlelight)

6:00 PM — Sanctuary Service (Communion and Candlelight)

Won’t be with us in-person for Christmas Eve worship services?

At-home worship kits, which contain everything you need to experience Christmas Eve while worshipping online, will be available in the Ory Parish Hall fallowing services on December 10th and 17th. They will be available for pick up in the front office December 18th – 22nd.
