Throughout the week, FUMC pastors and the Congregational Care Team host worship services all over Baton Rouge in senior living communities and retirement homes. We spoke with a few attendees to learn what they enjoy about these worship services.
“I’m not able to come to the church as much as I used to be able to. I love the music and love even more that our senior pastor does our worship service. It makes a lof of us feel special because we know he has a busy schedule.” Mrs. Helen Whitley, Williamsburg Senior Living Community
“I wish [FUMC] would do a worship service at Williamsburg every week. I enjoy the service and the music. I feel very honored that our church does this for us.” Mr. Tom Fike, Williamsburg Senior Living Community
“I love the worship service and the music at Williamsburg. I am able to attend services at FUMC because I take advantage of the bus service that picks us up at St. James every Sunday morning and drives us to FUMC.” Ms. Wanda Ward, Williamsburg Senior Living Community
“I enjoy the service and the music, and friends of mine who are not members of our congregation love it too!” Mrs. Martha Bienvenu, Williamsburg Senior Living Community
“I look forward to the worship service FUMC does every other Tuesday at The Haven at Windermere. I feel our church takes good care of FUMC members who live at The Haven. I feel honored that our senior pastor takes the time to preach at our service.” Mrs. Jean Jenkins, The Haven at Windermere
“I enjoy being able to attend the worship service at The Haven. I am a member of another Methodist church. Rev. Brady makes us [senior adults] who live there feel special. FUMC and the Congregational Care [team] have always taken very good care of the people at The Haven.” Mrs. Betty Sandifer, The Haven at Windermere
