In the Kitchen with Brother Lawrence: Light Suppers or Lunches

Inspired by Marjorie Thompson’s “Soul Feast” (2014), the sessions focus on prayer, one of the means of grace.  Each session begins with 30 minutes devoted to talking about different types of prayer and sharing experiences with prayer. Then we spend 30 minutes talking about the menu and recipes that have been prepared.  Participants are encouraged to share their experiences with cooking.  If time permits, we go to the kitchen to observe a cooking technique used in the preparation and/or see the dishes at various stages of cooking. Finally, we share the meal, which consists of an appetizer, main dish, sides and a dessert, and enjoy the feeling of community that develops when we sit and talk while eating a home-cooked meal.

When:   Tuesday Nights on October 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th  at 6pm

Location: Kay Martin’s House

Cost: $30 per person for the meals, to be paid at the first session
