Next Step Coffee

We invite you to take your Next Step in the life of the church. After worship, join our Next Step Hosts for a cup of coffee, enjoyable conversation, and learn why your presence is important. Next Step Coffee is held at 9:30 a.m. and noon in Adult Building, Room 118, and at 11:00 a.m. in the Conference Center. Want more information? Contact our Coordinator of Welcoming Ministry, Shelly Caro, at scaro@firstmethodist.org.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What times are the services?

We have services in the Sanctuary every Sunday morning at 8:30 and 11:00 AM. We also have the America Street Service at 9:45 AM in the Conference Center.

  • Where do I take my children?

Well, that is entirely up to you! We have a staffed nursery that you are welcome to use or you can keep your little ones with you in service. Visit the Children’s Check-in area located in the gym. We love having our children worship with us and want you to feel comfortable to have them participate in the nursery activities or to stay in worship with you. Children’s bulletins are available at all entrances to the Sanctuary, and activity bags are available at all entrances to the Conference Center.

  • What should I wear?

Wear what you have. Wear what you are comfortable in. Wear what you want! We are a diverse group of people and we believe that the people in the clothing are what matters most. People who attend our Sanctuary Service typically wear their “Sunday best”, think women in dresses and men in button-down shirts or suits. People attending our America Street Service may also be wearing their “Sunday best,” but you’ll also find people wearing jeans and shorts!

  • What is available for teenagers?

Sunday mornings the youth meet on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Youth Building for donuts at 9:30 AM then share classes. Many of the youth then join the 11 o’clock worship services with their families. If you would like more information about activities during the week you can find that on our Youth website.

Still have questions? That’s great, we look forward to answering them, and getting to know you better. If there is anything we can do to make your visit to FUMC more relaxing and enjoyable, just let us know!
