Join the Serve Squad at FUMC’s Annual Work Day on November 10, from 8:00 AM-1:00 PM. We’ll meet in the gym at 7:00 AM where Chef Kevin will be serving breakfast, before we head out to our work sites. We have a number of different organizations that we will be serving and you can choose where you want to work! This day is intended for all ages and children are encouraged to serve.

Florida Disaster Relief Mission Trip

The coastal communities surrounding Panama City Beach have been totally devastated by hurricane Michael. FUMC is taking a group of volunteers down to Panama City Beach, FL to help with the cleanup. The dates for this mission trip are November 25-29. Our accommodations will include bunk-bed style lodging, showers, a kitchen, and AC. We are also collecting donations of the following supplies:

Tarps, rakes, brooms, mops, hammers, nails, cleaning supplies, soap, paper towels, Gatorade, peanut butter and jelly, canned chicken and tuna, Enfamil, pull ups, size 5 & 6 diapers, toothpaste, and toothbrushes.

Revive 225, Baton Rouge Christian Charity

Revive225 Home Repair Ministry
A ministry of FUMC Baton Rouge, that repairs homes within 3 miles of the church. Volunteer groups from around the country come work for one week, and live at the FUMC Campus.

Ways you can help: be a site leader for a day/week, bake cookies for the volunteers, help serve dinner to the volunteers.

Habitat for Humanity – builds and renovates homes for deserving, low-income families.
Ways you can help: participate as a construction volunteer, work in the ReStore (a resource that provides income to Habitat)

HOPE Ministries – a client choice food pantry that allows individuals to gain self-sufficiency and dignity, and choose the food that suits their preferences and nutritional needs.
Ways you can help: mentor a family at-risk for homelessness, interview food pantry clients one-on-one, stock shelves and assist clients in selecting food, data entry & administrative tasks

Kairos – a ministry that addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women, youth and their families. Throughout the year, weekend retreats are held where a series of talks, discussions and chapel meditations help create a Christian community within the group.
Ways you can help: be a team member and minister directly to those incarcerated, bake cookies (these cookies are used as a tangible expression of Christian love), be a financial donor, be a prayer partner
